The Marriage Initiative is a collection of people who want to see healthy, successful marriages in our community.
Who we are
A network
Marriage Initiative North Texas (MINT) is a group of pastors, care pastors, counselors and ministry leaders across Collin and Grayson County who believe the local church is the best place for a marriage to be strengthened — and who would rather do that together than alone.
MINT operates under Enjoy Your Marriage, a 501(c)(3) led by Warren and Sonya Jacobs. [CONFIRM]
- No costs
- No dues, no contract, no application to be approved
- No curriculum you have to adopt
- No statement of faith to sign beyond your own church's
- No obligation to attend everything
What we do
Three things, done consistently
We gather together
A gathering every other month, ninety minutes, lunch included. One church shares what it is learning. The rest is time with other people and experts in the field, sharing best practices. No cost and no pitch.
We share ideas and resources
A current list of counselors, the programs churches here actually use, and plain guidance on what fits which season. You do not have to evaluate all of it yourself.
We make the handoff possible
When a couple needs more than your church can give, you should know exactly who to call. That only works if the churches know each other first.
How to partner
Two steps, and the first takes two minutes
Tell us who you are
Fill out the form below. It takes two minutes and tells us your church, your role, and what the marriages around you are facing. That is all — there is nothing to approve and nobody is screening you.
Come to a roundtable
Every other month, a different host church, alternating between Collin and Grayson County so no one always has the long drive. Come once and see whether it is worth your time. Most of the value is the conversation afterward.
Dates and hosts for the first year are still being set — we will email you as soon as the next one is on the calendar. See what a gathering looks like →
Step one
Join the initiative
We read every one of these. Expect a real reply from a person, usually within a week, and an email when the next gathering is set.
Is this for me?
Yes, if you are
- A pastor in Collin or Grayson County, of any size church
- The person people come to when a marriage is in trouble
- Leading marriage, family or small group ministry
- A mentor couple, or willing to become one
- A Christian counselor or coach serving couples here
- Starting from nothing and not sure where to begin
A few honest answers
We are a small church with no marriage ministry. Good. Many of the churches in the network are in that position. Starting from zero is the normal case, not the exception.
Our denomination is different from yours. The network is for churches that hold to historic Christian teaching on marriage. Beyond that we are not asking you to agree with us about anything else.
